The Hong Kong Airport Authority has started consulting the public on the expansion of the Hong International Airport.  They have released two development options in the HKIA Master Plan 2030. Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association strongly supports the expansion into a three-runway system considering, apart from maintaining Hong Kong’s competitiveness as an international business hub and a world-class city, but the growing demand of the capacity at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and the possible contributions towards our community.

Hong Kong International Airport is one of the finest and busiest airports in the world and a leading international aviation hub. With an extensive network, the airport sustains Hong Kong's economic development and provides ample job opportunities. To strengthen Hong Kong's competitiveness and meet future demand for aviation services, HKIA needs to be further developed. Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) is consulting the public on the Hong Kong International Airport Master Plan 2030 (MP2030), which outlines the strategic direction of the future development of HKIA, that is, maintaining the existing two-runway system or expanding into a three-runway system, and has commissioned the Social Sciences Research Centre (SSRC) of the University of Hong Kong to independently collect and compile public views. Your opinion is very important and valuable for this consultation.
