On October 27, 2025, the first focus group meeting themed "Research on the opportunities of developing low-altitude economy to Hong Kong enterprises" concluded successfully. Co-organized by the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association (HKAIA) and the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), the event was funded by the Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund (TSF).

The meeting brought together representatives from the aviation sector, including aircraft parts and equipment manufacturers, relevant technology companies such as DJI, SF Express, and LK Group. Academics also participated, with professors from The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University—who conduct research in related fields—joining the discussions. The core agenda focused on the current state of technological development in the low-altitude economy, with a key assessment of two critical technologies: UAVs and eVTOL aircraft. The primary objective was to clarify key industry technology trends and priority for R&D directions.

During the seminar sessions, invited representatives engaged in in-depth exchanges on the latest technological developments. They actively explored how to integrate smart systems with data analysis technologies to further enhance the overall operational efficiency and safety management standards of the low-altitude economy industry.

The successful conclusion of this focus group meeting has built a valuable communication platform for the development of Hong Kong's low-altitude economy. Moving forward, HKAIA will continue to pool industry wisdom, help Hong Kong enterprises seize new opportunities in the low-altitude economy, and jointly promote the further development of this sector.
