Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association Successfully Concluded First Field Study on GBA Low-Altitude Economy Development(2025-12-02)

19 November 2025, the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association (HKAIA), in collaboration with the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and funded by the Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund (TSF), conducted a one-day field study to Shenzhen on the low-altitude economy. The initiative aimed to gain in-depth insights into the development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) low-altitude economy and foster business exchanges between Hong Kong and the GBA in this sector.

The first stop of the study was Shenzhen DAMODA Intelligent Control Technology, a key player specializing in the R&D of drone swarm automation performance systems. The company provides more stable and efficient power support for drones, with its products widely adopted in drone performance applications.

The second stop was Meituan Low-Altitude Logistics Technology Co., which has completed the preliminary R&D of autonomous flight drones, fully automated meal delivery/receipt stations, and a drone operation software system. In partnership with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Institute of Digital Economy, the company has established the "Intelligent Logistics Joint Laboratory" to explore multi-scenario, all-weather, and high-density urban low-altitude logistics networks.

This field study in Shenzhen enabled HKAIA member companies to gain a deeper understanding of the development direction of the drone industry, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration between Hong Kong and Shenzhen in drone technology, market expansion, and other related fields.
