On 16-22th May 2010, a Study Mission on the Aviation Industry in Germany was organized by HKPC and co-organized by the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association with the objective of learning the technologies employed by the industry, as well as exploring opportunities for more business and technology cooperation with European companies. Arrangements were made for delegates to visit 4 aviation companies, including Lufthansa Technik AG, Dasell Cabin Interior GmbH, Airbus Bremen and Mühlenberg Interiors GmbH & Co. KG. Other activities were scheduled to include a visit to the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg and attend a networking reception hosted by the local aviation association.

China Commercial Aircraft Summit 2010 was held from 24-26th March 2010 in InterContinental Shanghai Pudong, China, focusing on aircraft manufacturing and leasing in China and Asia. HKAIA is one of the supporting organizations of this event and Dr. Jackson Ho, President of HKAIA, was invited to be a keynote speaker at the Summit.

On behalf of the HKAIA, Dr. Jackson HO attended the General Aviation Development Seminar (航空發展與改革論壇會 Zhuhai on 25th February 2010.
This seminar was organized by Zhuhai Aviation Indsutry Park and the purpose of which was to discuss the development and management of opening up low altitude airspace for general aviation.

HKAIA is a supporting organization to a Study Mission on the Aviation and Auto Parts Manufacturing Industry in Tianjin, which was held from 2-4th December 2009. 19 people participated in this mission and they were arranged to visit the Airbus Tianjin, Goodrich Aerostructures Service (China) Company, Tianjin FAWTOYOTA Motor Company, Tianjin Pacific Auto Parts Company and Tianjin Faw Xiali Automobile Company.

With the aim to promote cooperation between Hong Kong and Zhuhai companies, a Study Mission to the Aviation Industry in Zhuhai was held on 12th November 2009. 31 participants joined this event.

Asian Aerospace 2009, organised by Reed Exhibitions, was held at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong from 8-10 September 2009. The event was successfully concluded with a record of 356 exhibitors from 28 countries and over 12,600 attendees – one third from China, one third from Asia and the remainder from the rest of the world. One hundred senior industry speakers addressed the supporting conferences and 200 media, 3673 attendees visited the aircraft on display.

The United States Consulate General, with support from Boeing, Gulfstream, Raytheon, and the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association, organized a U.S. Networking Reception at the Asian Aerospace Exhibition on September 8, 2009.
Mr. Norman Lo, Honorary Chairman of HKAIA and Mr. Jackson Ho, President of HKAIA were invited to deliver remarks at the reception.
It was a very successful event that brought together over 150 U.S. and Hong Kong aviation industry professionals in a productive session of industry networking.

To congratulate our Honarory Chairman, the Director-General of Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong, Mr. Norman Lo, on being awarded the Medal of Aeronautics by the French government, HKAIA held a cocktail party in the Kowloon Club on 11th August 2009 with around 20 participants including the Honorary Chairman of HKAIA, Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Mr.Cliff Sun, Honorary Advisor of HKAIA, Mr. David Lui, representative from Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong, and representatives from airline companies, as well as representatives from manufacturing companies.
